Who We Are
We take on few projects, so each one can be given its full measure of care.
HJ Interiors is a residential design and construction studio working with a limited number of private clients each year. We design and build in-house, because a home is not a set of rooms to be styled, but an atmosphere to be composed — one that holds light, texture, and stillness in balance.
Our work spans villas, city residences, and penthouses across Sydney's North Shore, Eastern Suburbs, and Northern Beaches. Whatever the scale, the intent is the same: spaces that feel inevitable, as though they could not have been any other way.

The studio was founded in 2022 on a single conviction — that a home should feel resolved, not decorated. The work is grounded in material honesty, restrained palettes, and a patient, collaborative process.
What Guides Us
Four quiet convictions
Material honesty
Stone, timber, plaster and linen, used as themselves. We let a material's own character carry the room rather than disguising it.
Light as material
We design around the way daylight moves through a space across the day and the seasons — it is the first material we consider, not the last.
Proportion first
Before finishes, before furniture — the bones. Rooms that sit right in proportion feel calm long after the styling has faded.
A patient process
Good homes are not rushed. We move at the pace the work deserves, and involve our clients closely at every stage.
